mantra

Out of damp and gloomy days, out of solitude, out of loveless words directed at us, conclusions grow up in us like fungus: one morning they are there, we know not how, and they gaze upon us, morose and gray. Woe to the thinker who is not the gardener but only the soil of the plants that grow in him.

i will be sending this dutch boy a copy of december '06 bazaar next week. apparently he's crazy over luca gadjus on the cover. now, i'm still considering which courier services i will send it to. i'm weighing heavily between fedex and dhl. then again ups might be nice. why i think of these trivial things, still puzzles me to this day.

carine roitfeld's interview with frederic taddei. love her voice, so clear and youthful.

i have been harboring an excessive amount of negative emotions towards robbie williams, but finally i've neutralised that in the most scientifically accurate, psychologically/psychiatrically approved method. i said 'hail mary!' 37 times while dipping my left index finger in a pot of honey. i'm sure that will negate everything.

god forgives...god forgives.

i heard take that made a comeback album sans robbie williams. that is good news, since if there are projects without robbie william, it is always a welcoming news. to this day, i could not believe of all the guys in that band robbie made it 'big' -- or at least got the most and lasting exposure. everytime mr. williams appeared on my television screen i could not help this involuntary knee-jerk reaction to empty my stomach's content right on the living room carpet. this has happened four times. out of which three are imaginary and one is real. also, i suspect partially the sushi i had eaten five minutes prior was to be blamed, but since i am blinded by my disgust with mr. williams, i shall overlook that bad sushi and blame it fully on robbie williams. now with the release of rudebox...fuck you, mr. williams.

back to take that - since take that is back, it only means one thing...gary barlow..yes, gary barlow. that's all i'm saying.

there are so much that i want to write, however with the very little creativity and dismal writing skills that i possess, i fear this post -like the rest- will be as dull, trite, predictable and purely superficial. alas, this won't be a lustrous post filled
with juice insight to my life.

two weeks ago, i purchased a few books, mark haddon's new book a bother spot, patrick suskind's perfume, lee tulloch's fabulous nobodies, and penguin classic book selection brother grimm's fairy tales. i notice this trend i practice in book selection, books that i purchased were all months (if not years) past its 'hot' status, and almost all of them are either on the top of the best-seller's list (at one point or another), or it was extremely well-known. once, i would wish to dare myself and pick an obscure book with an average looking book cover (say what you will, i judge a book by its cover), written by a little known author. that would be neat, but given my highly discriminatory personality, i tend to let others experiment with new authors and writing style while only dipping my toe in when i know for sure it is a (more or less) solidly written and appealed to a rather large crowd.

also, i've been having flashbacks to some italian phrases that i've learnt many months ago (that i've abandoned in favour of french), and i am incredibly drawn to learning italian again. french bores me now.
